Project 9 - Obsta-Bot

Obsta-Bot is an exciting hands-on robotics project where your child builds a robot that can detect obstacles and make decisions on its own.

Using an ultrasonic sensor as its “eyes,” ObstaBot constantly measures distance ahead. When it senses an object nearby, it instantly decides whether to stop, turn, or change direction — just like a real autonomous robot.

Your child assembles the robot chassis, mounts the motors, connects the motor driver module, installs the ultrasonic sensor, and programs the logic that controls movement. As the robot rolls forward and avoids obstacles in real time, abstract concepts like sensing, control, and decision-making come to life.

This project gently introduces robot intelligence, motor control, and cause-and-effect logic in a fun, confidence-building way.
